Thank you for helping us celebrate a new magazine for a new San Jose: Content Magazine.
In the days since our launch party, we’ve been reflective, thankful, inspired and just plain excited (okay, maybe a little exhausted too!) Seeing the space at the San Pedro Square Market come to life with the pages of past issues hanging for people to touch, and the pictures of “San Jose celebrities” we’ve come to know and love, was surreal. Handing out the printed issue—the one we’ve worked so hard on, the one we funded from our Kickstarter campaign, the one we knew would be a game changer for our mission–brought us so much pride. We are still so thankful to the vendors that sponsored our event, giving our guests some of the best food and wine tastings around.
But the best moment, hands down, was when I scanned the crowd while Daniel gave his “speech,” thanking our supporters, and casting the vision for what’s to come. That crowd represented the culmination of years of chipping away, pulling up one rock to discover 1000 more stories of people, San Jose people, who are doing something special: Inspiring things. Innovative things. Artistic things. Meaningful things. To see so many of these people in one place, brought a sense of true pride for our city.
And as the last guests left and we cleaned up, the Content Contributors were smiling from ear to ear. Yes, the party itself was fun, but we were all struck with this sense that there is room for this in San Jose. Mr. Rogers said it well: “Who are the people in your neighborhood? They’re the people you meet when you’re walking down the street, they are the people that you meet each day.” We’re committed to discovering and displaying these creative and innovative people in San Jose—and we hope you’ll join us in our journey.
“If you agree with thousands of San Joseans living in our core about the need for a magazine that focuses on all that is uniquely Downtown–our people, music, art, restaurants, design, and productions–then subscribe!
