The San Jose Earthquakes celebrated their 40th anniversary on January 30th at the San Pedro Square Market.
Eager Earthquakes fans filled the Market getting autographs and pictures taken with some of their favorite Earthquakes players. Fans also had a chance to see the Earthquakes’ two MLS Cup trophies from 2001 and 2003.
Outside the Market attendees had an opportunity to learn more about the Earthquakes’ new stadium, scheduled to open in 2015, which will be able to seat 18,000 people.
The moment everyone was waiting for began when attendees crowded around a stage set up across the street from the SunWize building. Representatives from the Earthquakes organization spoke on stage, celebrating the team’s 40th anniversary. Crescendo increased as the crowd counted down to the revealing of the Earthquakes’ new jerseys and new logo.
