What do you enjoy about modeling? I love the social aspect and the constant change. No project or job is ever the same, so it never gets boring. I’ve met so many wonderful, fun people through modeling, and it has helped me come out of my shell a lot.
What do you think is the most pressing current social issue? As an environmental economics and policy major, I am extremely passionate about environmental issues. I think the most pressing one at the moment is the lack of food equity in the world. So many people go hungry when there is by far enough food produced to feed everyone. In addition, many people don’t have access to fresh food, which results in many of the health problems such as obesity, heart disease, etc. that we see becoming epidemics today.
Guilty pleasure? Bad TV! My friends and I watch this terrible show on MTV called Are You the One? There is a house full of people (who are terrible at relationships) that have taken a personality test and been perfectly matched with someone else in the house. They have to figure out who their perfect matches are for a chance at splitting a million dollars. There is so much drama and the people are so ridiculous; it’s so awful, but so entertaining!
Favorite article of clothing/accessory? I recently bought some really flowy pants at a Tibetan store that have elephants and cool patterns on them. They are extremely comfortable, yet stylish. How can you beat that?
Place you would want to visit? I want to visit all seven continents during my life. I’m most excited to visit New Zealand and Antarctica right now because I’ll be studying abroad in New Zealand in the spring!
What are you currently obsessed with? Learning to play the ukulele! I started learning at like 1:30 in the morning a couple of days ago and can’t stop. I’ve already learned two songs!
What is your “guiding philosophy” for life? Do what makes you happy. I have worked really hard to make sure that every aspect of my life has a positive impact on who I am as a person. I’ve learned to cut out toxic relationships and really just go with my gut over the past few years. As a result, I really can’t complain about anything in my life. I’m surrounded by loving, supporting friends and family, love what I study, and have an overall very fulfilling life.
