Join Content Magazine for a colorful evening at the School of Arts and Culture on Thursday, July 21 from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. At the next Content LAB, “Color Night,” Juan Sanchez of Baunfire Ad Agency will teach on the topic of color theory and the messages that are conveyed through the different hues people see and use. Content featured artist Frances Marin will share a variety of watercolor techniques, including mixing colors, choosing materials, creating salt textures, pooling, and dabbing, as well as tips for keeping colors luminous.

Frances Marin

frances-marin-blog_sqFrances Marin is an artist and illustrator who is drawn to the mysterious nature of life, whether real or imagined, leading her to everyday familiarities, dreams, memory, the subconscious, and humor in her work. These ideas are explored through drawing, painting, and other media. She has been hired to paint client’s dreams, portraits, and other commissioned pieces. Her original art resides in collections throughout the United States and the world. Frances is currently showing her work in San Francisco and San Jose. She recently designed a line of San Jose tote bags from the San Jose Office of Cultural Affairs’ Creative Industries Incentive Fund grant through the Center for Cultural Innovation. On July 30, she will also be teaching a block printing workshop at The Arsenal.
